This week’s edition of Bullet Points is coming to you from the Scholastic Trapshooting Program National Championships at the Grand American World Trapshooting Championships in Vandalia, Ohio. Our lead story brings you news of the national finals, and you’ll notice we’ve added photographs, an enhancement we’ve been wanting to provide Bullet Points readers for a while. 42 TEAMS FROM 25 STATES COMPETE IN FIRST
SCHOLASTIC TRAPSHOOTING PROGRAM NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

More than 200 of the nation’s best high school trapshooters, representing 25 state championship teams, came to Vandalia, Ohio, to compete in the inaugural Scholastic Trapshooting Program. Champions were crowned today in junior and senior high school divisions. “We’re very pleased with the turnout in the first year of the program and thank all the participants and their coaches for the outstanding sportsmanship they exhibited during the competition. These young competitors clearly show that  the future of trapshooting is in good hands. Special kudos go to the members of the national champion teams for the exceptional shooting ability they displayed,” said Doug Painter, executive director of the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), which sponsored the program in partnership with the Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA).
